Why WE DO IT.
The Beach Hockey Classic is an annual celebration of the life of 11-year-old Patrick Carr, affectionately known as the “Lil’ Fighter”. Patrick’s passion was hockey, which he used as motivation in his courageous and inspirational battle with cancer. The community celebrates Patrick’s incredible life by gathering to compete for a chance to have their names engraved on the Patrick Carr Memorial Sandley Cup while raising awareness and funds for the Golisano Children's Hospital. Through a fun-filled beach hockey party, this is how we continue to carry on the legacy of Patrick Carr!

THE SANDLEY CUP
The Patrick Carr Memorial Sandley Cup is presented annually to the champions of the Beach Hockey Classic. The champions of each division celebrate with the cup on the beach, pose for photographs, and ultimately have their team name and players’ names engraved on the cup’s chalice. The cup remains possession of BHC Board!
